UKPA parts company with Andrew Page in high-profile distribution change
PARTS distributor Andrew Page has parted company with the UK Parts Alliance (UKPA) buying group that it helped to form nine years ago.
The UKPA cited strategic differences following management changes at Andrew Page as the reason for the move that will formally come into effect on July 1st.
“There have been a number of management changes at Andrew Page and as a consequence of this, Andrew Page cannot comply with the group strategy of the UKPA,” read a UKPA press statement.
“Therefore they have decided to leave the UK Parts Alliance. This will take effect from 1st July 2008,” continued the message.
“Actions are underway to maintain national coverage and nothing changes with regards to the UKPA's strategy. It is business as usual".
The departure of Andrew Page means UKPA is left with eight member distribution companies, namely:
- Allparts Automotive Ltd
- Camberley Auto Factors Ltd
- CES (UK) Ltd
- Central Auto Supplies
- Dingbro Ltd
- GMF Motor Factors Ltd
- Mill Autoquip Ltd
- SC Motor Factors Ltd
Andrew Page helped form the UKPA in 1999 with the aim of forming “strong trading relationships” with OE suppliers.
Andrew Page said it “did not wish to comment” on its withdrawal from UKPA when Aftermarket phoned to get its side of the story.
