New man takes charge of national warehouse distributor's field sales team
National warehouse distributor GP Automotive has appointed Jim Henry as its new national sales manager.
As a supplier of some of the best-known brands in the automotive aftermarket – including Bendix, Gates and VECO – GP has moved to restructure its field sales department by placing Jim (pictured right) in charge of the seven sales representatives that serve the company in the UK market.
Jim has been directly involved in the automotive sector for more than 15 years and most recently held the position of brand manager at James Briggs, where he was responsible for re-launching and developing the Add-It brand of vehicle additives on both a national and international scale.
"I'm thrilled to be joining a company that has been at the forefront of the parts distribution sector for many years and I'm aiming to make a difference in 2008," said Jim.
"I want to make sure our budgets are met, we increase the depth of the GP customer base even further and develop the VECO own brand to the point where we bring 50 new distributor accounts online during 2008.
“There is massive growth potential with VECO and I'll be striving to drive that forward through the hard work of the field sales team.”
GP Automotive managing director, Graham Trevitt, welcomed Jim’s appointment. "Jim has excellent knowledge of the industry at all levels in the distribution chain and his appointment will help us to maintain our focus and continue to grow,” he said. “He has already brought some fresh ideas and a great energy to the field sales team.”
